And So It Continues.....

Well, many of us hoped this pesky little virus would run it's course in a few months and we'd be back to normal by summer, almost one full year later, we're still dealing with it and all the other fun its brought along the way. And in my opinion, this thing is never going away.

It's here to stay!

So if you haven't accepted that and you're still waiting for things to go back to the way they were, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but its not going to happen. So what's that mean? It means we need to adapt! We need to make changes to continue to maintain our health, sanity, friendships, and prosperity.

I was with a friend the other day and he complained to me that he's put on a bunch of weight since the gyms have closed and he can't motivate himself to do things on his own and can't afford to buy his own gym equipment. People always think when it comes to a home gym they need a bunch of dumbbells or some big expensive machine, but that's so far from the truth. You can do a ton with just your bodyweight along, but if you want to add in some variety, then a TRX Suspension trainer and a sandbag with handles are the two pieces of equipment that I recommend to everyone.

With these two items, you can do COUNTLESS exercises and movements for every single body part.

You can build strength, endurance, work on your cardio, or even do a yoga session and improve your mobility.

But Jono, I have a 17 year old son and a 82 year old grandparent that live with me, what about them? You can adjust the difficulty level of the TRX by decreasing your angle, or add in an additional sandbag if that 17 year old son is trying to put on more muscle before heading to college.

While some gyms have started to re-open, I highly recommend you add in some variety to your workouts and skip the hassle of having to wear a mask and re-breath your own stale Co2 as you do the same boring treadmill workout you've done for the past 5 years. As I said above, this virus is here to stay so start thinking long-term, how you can adapt, and then make the necessary changes.

Not sure where to begin with the TRX or sandbag? Let's meet up and I can give you a full workout to follow and get you doing things and feeling muscles you never knew you had!
