Inspiration, Motivation, ACTION

As I drive around from place to place, I like to listen to audio books or podcasts to help exercise my mind. I just finished listening to a book by Mark Manson called "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck!". This is a great book that I definitely recommend everyone read/listen. He talks about how everyone is so worried about what others think, that they end up totally disregarding many of their own values to make others happy. A lot of people don't even know what their own values are, so how can they fight for them?

One point he brought up was that most people go through life looking for some sort of inspiration. Whether that be for a career, fitness, or love. Once they get a little inspiration, that sparks the motivation to finally take action.

However, how often does that magical inspirational moment come along? Not often, if ever! Have you ever talked to someone who said they would love to start their own business, but they just don't know what to do? They're looking for that magical inspirational moment to smack them in the face.

In Mark's book he discusses that we actually have the order all backwards. We should take ACTION FIRST! Even if its the tiniest of action, take that first step. Not sure what business to start? Do something towards it and it will spark new ideas and inspiration that you wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Want to lose weight, but can't find the motivation to get to the gym? Take ACTION and start off by walking around the block. While walking you may meet a group of other walkers that you connect with and soon you and that group are doing races together.

I'm not going to lie, it is hard to start something without having a big purpose behind it. But take it from me, just get out and take ACTION, anything. Once you take action, you will find that inspiration and motivation that will push you to reach your goals.

And if not, let me be the one to push you and hold you accountable until that inner inspiration does find you. But be forewarned, I'm not going to go easy on you!
