Mauka Makai Fitness and the Hawaii Spartan Ohana present -
The Ohana Backyard Bash
August 15, 2020
We love to compete in obstacle races and know you will too, so join Mauka Makai Fitness and The Hawaii Spartan Ohana for our Backyard Bash Obstacle Race.
The Backyard Bash captures the fun and excitement of being a kid and playing in your neighbors backyard. Test your skills by crawling through mud, climbing walls, running up and down hills, and having a blast with your friends.
We don't have the budget the other organizations have, therefore all obstacles will be the same for males and females. For example, we will do our best to ensure the weighted obstacles are similar, but don't be upset if your sandbag or log turns out to be a little heavier than the person next to you. Pick accordingly and have fun!
What to expect:
LOTS OF LAUGHS!
How Far Will I Need To Run?
There are two distance options. Sign up for the short course 2-3 miles, or push yourself and do 2 laps for an estimated 5-6 miles.
Double the laps, double the fun!
Short Course Individual: $30
Long Course Individual: $45
Short Course Parent/Child: $45
*Price increase July 22nd
*All finishers will receive a t-shirt and medal. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 males and females of the long course only.
**Must be at least 14 years old to run solo, or 10 years old if parent runs alongside.
What Will I Need?
It's going to be hot and there will be limited water stations on the course so we recommend you have your own water, electrolytes, and nutrition.
This is a trail/obstacle run, so depending on the amount of rain, there will be mud, slippery terrain, and tree branches you'll need to get over, so trail/hiking shoes are recommended.
Expect to get dirty, so a towel and change of clothes is also recommended. Your car seats will appreciate it.
COVID-19 Safety Precautions
We understand the threat of COVID is still a concern and will do our best to mitigate any spread.
This event will be held entirely outside and per Hawaii COVID Amendment 3.0, we have limited the number of participants and volunteers to only allow for a max of 100 people onsite.
Along with hand sanitizer located at various points along the course, we will release competitors in waves of 10 to allow for proper distancing and minimize gathering of people at obstacles.
We recommend that if you have any symptoms, been previously exposed to a person with COVID, or are concerned for your health, that you do not sign-up for this event.
